Houston Ballet Academy is proud to announce our new Weekend Workshop series for students and teachers. Students will work on their technique and artistry with Houston Ballet Academy’s world-renowned artistic staff. Teachers will examine pedagogical methods, techniques and teaching styles, observe classes, and engage in discussion with Houston Ballet Academy artistic staff. Workshop topics include technique, coaching, character, and more. No prior enrollment in Houston Ballet Academy or its programs is required to attend.
This one-day workshop allows students and teachers to learn from Houston Ballet Academy’s world-renowned faculty while discovering more about the enchanting world of Ben Stevenson’s, The Sleeping Beauty. The workshop includes technique and coaching classical repertory. You will examine the technique and classical artistry that make this one of ballet’s favorite and most important works. Included in both the teacher and student workshops is a ticket to the March 1, 2020 matinee performance of The Sleeping Beauty, a feature of Houston Ballet’s 50th anniversary season.
This comprehensive intensive taught by Houston Ballet Academy’s world renowned faculty is geared towards adult dancers ages 20 and above. It is designed and well suited for adult dancers who are Advanced Beginner through Advanced. Classes will include Ballet Technique, Pointe, Rep/Variations, Modern, Social Dance, Body Conditioning and Yamuna. There will be a showing on the last day for dancers to demonstrate what they have learned. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
