Behind the Scenes Tour:

Ever wondered how a ballet makes it to the stage? Ever wondered how dancers train? On this hour-long look behind the scenes, come see a day in the life at Houston Ballet. Trained docents will guide you through our six-story, 115,000-square-foot facility located in the heart of downtown Houston's Theater District.
Behind the Scenes tours are offered on the following days and times:
- Tuesdays at 10:30am
- Wednesdays at 1:00pm
- Saturdays at 11:00am

Behind the Scenes - Extended:
[GRADES 2-12 ONLY. Groups of 20 MIN. - 100 MAX. Two (2) hour experience.]
We've combined two existing Education & Community Engagement programs to bring you a new field trip opportunity! Our Behind the Scenes tour is enhanced by including a Ballet Talk in our Behind the Scenes - Extended program. Students will participate in an interactive, storytelling experience with one of our favorite ballets and develop an understanding of how a ballet moves from an idea, through rehearsals, to the stage!
Behind the Scenes - Extended tours will be offered from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on the following dates:

BEHIND THE SCENES – CAREER IN THE ARTS
[GRADES 7-12 ONLY. Groups of 20 MIN. - 50 MAX. Two (2) hour experience.]
This experience includes a Behind the Scenes tour of the Houston Ballet Margaret Alkek Williams Center for Dance. On this tour, students will see professional dancers taking class, visit our world-class wardrobe facility and learn about the History of Houston Ballet.
The centerpiece of this building tour is the opportunity to meet and hear from a panel of Houston Ballet employees from a variety of departments, including Marketing & Public Relations, Development, Production, Audio/Visual and Education. Students will learn about different career opportunities at Houston Ballet and other non-profit, Arts organizations.
Behind the Scenes - Career in the Arts tours will be offered from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the following dates:
- October 27, 2023
- January 26, 2024
