2020 Raising the Barre presented by BB&T now Truist Bank was set to be the most successful in its history. Chaired by Mignon & Steve Gill and Samira Salman, over 200 guests were excited to enjoy a special dinner on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Georgia James honoring Bill and Courtney Toomey.
The evening was postponed indefinitely as Houston Ballet made the necessary pivot to the virtual stage while navigating a severe financial loss.
With a heavy heart, Houston Ballet is officially canceling 2020 Raising the Barre. The safety and wellbeing of Houston Ballet’s supporters, dancers, staff, and our friends in the hospitality industry are our biggest priority.
Thank you to all the generous supporters and special thanks to Co-Chairs Mignon & Steve Gill and Samira Salman for their leadership!
Thank you to Raising the Barre chefs - Chef/Owner Chris Shepherd, Underbelly Hospitality; Pastry Chef Rebecca Masson, Fluff Bake Bar; Executive Chef/Owner Hugo Ortega, H Town Restaurant Group; Executive Chef Manabu "Hori" Horiuchi, Kata Robata - for your creativity and partnerships.
