Gift Officer

Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, the Gift Officer contributes to fundraising efforts on behalf of Houston Ballet by managing a personal portfolio of Ambassador-level and Arabesque Society donors and prospects. Highly externally focused, this position engages donors and prospects through personal meetings, stewardship and cultivation events and at performances and other special events. The Gift Officer creates and strengthens relationships between donors and Houston Ballet and is an integral part of the Individual Giving team’s goal to build a community of donor dance enthusiasts.

Archive Assistant

Houston Ballet, one of the nations' preeminent ballet companies and ballet academies, has a history spanning more than fifty years. The purpose of The Archive Assistant is to assist the archivist in safeguarding the legacy of Houston Ballet and implementing systems that will streamline the usage, creation, and storage of archival documents across the organization. The primary components of the project are: 1) completion of inventory of the collection and implementation of a long-term project to create a searchable catalog for archival materials; 2) archival-quality digitization of prioritized analog video materials; and 3) improved systems for accessing and preserving archival materials used in the company's daily activities, including creation of manuals, workflows, and protocols.

Dorm Supervisor

The Part-Time Dorm Chaperone is a member of a rotating team of 3–4 individuals responsible for supporting the residential life experience for Houston Ballet Academy students living in the Center for Dance dormitory. Working on assigned days, chaperones provide evening supervision, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming, and developmentally supportive environment. Under the leadership of the Residential Life Coordinator, chaperones play a key role in fostering student well-being, managing dorm operations during assigned shifts, and promoting a strong sense of community.

Residential Life Coordinator

The Houston Ballet Center for Dance Residential Life Coordinator is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the residential life program and the well-being of Houston Ballet Academy Professional Program students who live in the Center for Dance Dormitory. Working Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., this position splits time between the Academy office and the dorms, ensuring a cohesive and supportive experience for students. The supervisor plays a key role in fostering a positive environment by providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship while promoting student independence and personal growth. Responsibilities include managing residential operations, coordinating activities, overseeing dorm logistics, and collaborating with the Associate Director of Student Life on program planning. Strong organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills are essential to maintain a well-structured and enriching residential experience that aligns with Houston Ballet’s values.

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for delivering general Marketplace information to callers.
Our part-time customer service positions pay $15 per hour.
The CSRs use basic office equipment and technology such as telephones, email, and web browsers to perform their duties. The CSRs assume ticket order responsibility and processing of payments during performances and throughout the work week.

We are looking for a Seasonal Sales Associate to help in Houston Ballet retail store. In this role, you will greet customers and provide them with product information or suggestions. Your other tasks involve keeping the sales floor clean, organized, and stocked with inventory. Since this is our busy season, we serve a high number of customers throughout the day. Employees must follow company policy and uphold brand standards at all times. Seasonal hourly salary starts at $15.00/ 40 hours per week.
Academy Class Monitor

This is a part-time, in-person position located in downtown Houston, Texas. The position pays $15 per hour.
Academy Class Monitors will help ensure the safety and security of Houston Ballet Academy students at the Center for Dance, located in downtown Houston. Academy Class Monitors will handle COVID-19 screening and implement Academy health and safety procedures. All Houston Ballet employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Hours for the position range from 15-25 per week, depending on availability.
