Development Communications Coordinator
The Development Communications team at Houston Ballet is responsible for donor communication pieces ranging from large scale publications such as the Houston Ballet performance program and Houston Ballet News to smaller scale proposals, event materials, advertisements, and more. The Development Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Development Communications Manager in writing and designing for these materials.
The Development Communications Coordinator will need a strong eye for design, skills in writing, and a passion for the arts. The Development Communications team often works on a timeline and with multiple colleagues across the organization, so the coordinator should have a proven ability to work on deadlines and take initiative to get things done while working collaboratively in a team environment.
Academy Class Monitor
This is a part-time position located in Houston, Texas.
Academy Class Monitors will help ensure the safety and security of Houston Ballet Academy students at the Center for Dance, located in downtown Houston. Academy Class Monitors will handle COVID-19 screening and implement Academy health and safety procedures.
Hours for the position range from 15-25 per week, depending on availability. Please include your schedule/availability in your cover letter.
Summer Intensive Pianist
Under minimal supervision, the Academy Summer Intensive Pianist provides accompaniment for Houston Ballet’s school, called the Academy. This will be for ballet classes for the Houston Ballet’s 2021 Summer Intensive Program. The 6-week summer intensive program runs June 28-July 31, 2021. Travel to Houston, housing and a weekly stipend will be provided.
As the Production Coordinator, you’ll serve as the primary contact from the Production Department for Houston Ballet’s school and students, called the Academy. Through various programs, the Academy trains over 1,000 students a year. It offers training designed to take students from their first introduction to movement through a full course of ballet study. The Academy’s outstanding faculty includes teachers who have performed with prestigious companies throughout the world. In addition to your work with the Academy, you'll also work directly with the Houston Ballet Production team in fulfilling the needs of the Houston Ballet Company of professional dancers in our downtown Houston location and at other venues in Houston as needed.
Production Operations Manager

As the Technical Director, you’ll be responsible for drafting, generating & distributing all technical paperwork for every company production. This position manages & supervises all work activities of the IATSE union stage crew at the warehouse and while in production at the theater or on tour. Working closely with the Head of Production, the Technical Director is integral in the assessment, planning, budget forecasting, and archiving of all company productions and tours.
Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll handle a variety of administrative operations involving the dancers of Houston Ballet’s professional Company as well as Visiting Artists. The Company Manager plays a critical role in the planning, logistics, and communication of all company activities.
Customer Service Representative
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for delivering general Marketplace information to callers. The CSRs use basic office equipment and technology such as telephones, email, and web browsers to perform their duties. The CSRs assume ticket order responsibility and processing of payments during performances and throughout the work week.
Houston Ballet Orchestra
Houston Ballet Orchestra's 61 professional musicians provide great music to enhance the experience of a live ballet performance.
