The show must go on(line)!
While we are all practicing social distancing at home, our entire organization is working hard on creating new ways for you to keep in touch with our dancers and experience the ballet you love from your living rooms.
Stay tuned for more exciting digital content to come and donate now to keep us creating. Every contribution will be matched dollar for dollar by The Cullen Trust for the Performing Arts.
Dancing with Myself
Don't miss Dancing with Myself, an exciting premiere work from Stanton Welch, choreographed and rehearsed entirely on Zoom. As Dance Magazine says, it's the "I Feel Seen" moment we all need right now!
Current and former Company dancers sit down (virtually) with Houston Ballet for a series of open and honest conversations around the BIPOC experience in the world of dance. Starting from the first Black dancers to join the Company, each episode will explore the individual and collective experiences that these dancers have encountered through their careers as dancers of color.
HB At Home
En Pointe with HB
We're bringing back the Houston Ballet blog as another way to stay in touch with the organization. With weekly #MotivationMondays and regular features of dancers, programs and staff, En Pointe with Houston Ballet is a great way to read about all of the ongoings of the Ballet during this time away from the studio.
The Director's Chair
"Live, from their living rooms...it's The Director's Chair with Stanton Welch!" Get to know the Company dancers through our latest weekly YouTube series, The Director's Chair. Artistic Director Stanton Welch interviews dancers from home, covering everything from humble beginnings to their favorite Houston Ballet stories. Tune in every Monday on YouTube! The Director's Chair is funded in part by the City of Houston through Houston Arts Alliance.
The Dancer Perspective
Hosted by members of the Company, The Dancer Perspective is a series for virtual discussions on a topics curated by the dancers themselves. Held live on Zoom, these dance talks allow fans of HB to engage with the dancers directly as they discuss their experiences as professional dancers at Houston Ballet. We loved having you all with us for our 4 Spring Sessions! If you missed them, check out the recordings on YouTube:
