Headlining the season are three captivating story ballets: John Neumeier’s Houston premiere of The Little Mermaid, Ben Stevenson’s timeless classic The Sleeping Beauty, and Stanton Welch’s highly anticipated world premiere of Raymonda, marking his eighth full-length ballet created for the Company. Additionally, the season will feature several compelling one-act ballets including Stanton Welch’s Velocity and Maninyas, George Balanchine’s Theme and Variations, Ben Stevenson’s Four Last Songs, Aszure Barton’s Come In, Lila York’s Celts, and so much more! Audiences will have the opportunity to witness two new works created on the company by sought-after choreographers such as Silas Farley and Brett Ishida.
“From curtain up to curtain down, this season explores the depth and breadth of this art form, and I’m so excited to be involved in presenting works we’ve never seen before and the kind of classics that are a wonderful way to introduce new audiences to ballet.” - Julie Kent, Artistic Director.
