As of April 6th, we have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the remainder of our performances in the 2019-2020 season, including the reschedule Forged in Houston, From Houston to the World and Romeo & JulietSubscribers and ticket holders will receive additional communication from our ticketing team regarding how to make arrangements for your tickets. We have also canceled our community performances at Miller Outdoor Theater and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, along with our much-anticipated tour to Spain this summer. Houston Ballet Academy has also made the difficult decision to finish the spring semester with online learning only.  Academy faculty are now creating original digital content for all students, including weekly ballet classes tailored to each level of instruction. For more information please visit the Academy webpage HERE

In accordance with CDC recommendations, we are extending the closure of the Center for Dance through the summer. Our staff will continue to work remotely and is focused on new ways to bring ballet to our patrons and fans through creative digital content. If you had prior business scheduled at Center for Dance during this time, please reach out to your contact to reschedule. 

Subscriptions and single ticket sales cover a critical part of the cost of our annual operations and, even during these challenging times, our costs continue. Question 1:

I am a subscriber or a ticket holder for one of the canceled performances. What are the next steps?

First, we want to thank you for your understanding and support as we have navigated the past few weeks of uncertainty. If you are a subscriber or a single ticket holder, you should receive an email with specific instructions on how to make arrangements for your tickets. For assistance, please contact a customer service representative at ticketsonline@houstonballet.org or by calling our Box Office number 713.227.2787 (ARTS). Our current office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM. Please note that we have limited staff working remotely to assist our patrons. If you are unable to get ahold of a representative over the phone, please email the box office at the email address above or call 713.522.5538 to leave a voicemail. Please allow up to 48 hours for a response from a member of our team. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

We hope that all of our patrons will consider donating the cost of your tickets back to Houston Ballet to help support our dancers, artists and staff. With the cancellation of these performances, Houston Ballet is facing an estimated loss of $1.3 million in ticketing revenue alone. The simple act of donating your tickets back to the organization is a huge help in keeping our operations moving forward. Patrons are encouraged to make a decision about the status of their tickets by June 15, 2020. 

Question 2:

Can I use my tickets from the 2019-2020 season for next season's performances?

Ticket holders may request to receive a credit for the value of your ticket(s) as an HB credit. Your credit can be applied to any 2020-2021 full season or mini package subscription, one of the 6 main repertory performances or select dates of the add-on performances of The Nutcracker, Margaret Alkek Williams Jubilee of Dance and/or Academy Spring Showcase. Question 3:

I am a renewing subscriber for the upcoming 2020-2021 season. How does this situation affect renewing my seats?

Due to the current unforseen circumstances, we are being fluid with our renewal deadline dates. Currently, we are pushing back our deadline for full season renewals from March 27 to April 24. Again, we are monitoring the situation closely and will continue to adjust to best serve our loyal subscribers. We need our subscribers now more than ever. Even though our Box Office operations are currently limited, you can always renew online here

Question 4:

How can I help support Houston Ballet during this time?

Houston Ballet is a non-profit organization and we are currently facing a financial loss of between $2.9 and $4.9 million, depending on the duration of this crisis. While every effort is being made to save on expenses, Houston Ballet needs your help now more than ever. To help support the Foundation during this uncertain time, please consider making a donation.
