Romeo & Juliet

Don’t miss Stanton Welch’s brilliantly imagined interpretation of the Shakespearean tragedy, Romeo & Juliet. Returning to the Wortham Theater stage for the first time since the ballet’s debut in 2015 this production matches classic themes with fresh choreography. The Bard himself would surely approve.

Summer & Smoke

Summer & Smoke features two ballets set to music by the great Johann Sebastian Bach, Stanton Welch’s fan-favorite Clear and George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, on stage for the first time since 1977, set alongside the world premiere of Cathy Marston’s Summer and Smoke, a ballet inspired by Tennessee William’s eponymous poem.

Swan Lake

Generously underwritten by Margaret Alkek Williams
One of ballet’s most famous love stories, Stanton Welch’s Swan Lake gives the 19th century work a twenty-first-century pace, taking inspiration from Pre-Raphaelite painter John William Waterhouse’s painting The Lady of Shalott. Become mesmerized by synchronized swans and stunning choreography as we close the 2022-2023 season.
