Jewels

Generously underwritten by Hallie Vanderhider

George Balanchine’s classic Jewels is a full-length evening of works set to three distinct musical stylings from famous composers. The sharp movements of Rubies match Stravinsky’s jazz-inflected capriccio, Emeralds glimmers to mesmerizing pace of Faure’s composition and Diamonds embodies the regality of Tchaikovsky’s symphonic score.

Pretty Things

Pop music and ballet have never looked so good! Between the musicality of One|end|One, set to music by Mozart, the comedic and soul-stirring Hush, set to music by Bobby McFerrin and Yo-Yo Ma and the dynamic disco vibes of Trey McIntyre’s Pretty Things set to music by the iconic David Bowie, this mixed repertoire program is full of rhythm and groove.

Originals

Celebrate the collaboration between music and movement with Originals. Stanton Welch’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra anchors this program, where Benjamin Britten’s iconic work provides the perfect soundtrack as dancers take the stage to embody the instruments themselves. Along with a world premiere by Principal Dancer Melody Mennite, this showcase of artistry is not to be missed!
