A Defining Moment

Graduation performance at the Royal Opera House.
First time I danced a solo role in a ballet company.

Born in Japan, Simone Acri began classical ballet training at Acri-Horimoto Ballet Academy. After reaching the finals at the Prix de Lausanne in 2013, he received a full scholarship to The Royal Ballet School in London, where he graduated in 2016. Acri joined Tulsa Ballet II in 2016 and was promoted to main company in 2018.  In 2020, Acri joined Houston Ballet as a member of the Corps de Ballet.  He was Demi Soloist in May 2022.  He was promoted to Soloist in December 2022.

Acri has been featured in the following ballets:  Solo man in Stanton Welch AM's Brigade (2021),  Prince, Snow Cavaliere, Russian in Tulsa Ballet's The Nutcracker (2016-2019), Prince, Scarecrow in Edwaard Liang’s Dorothy and the Prince of Oz (2019), Franz in Coppelia (2019), Ali in Le Corsaire (2019) and Alexander Ekman’s Cacti (2017).
