Where do I park for a performance?
For parking information and directions click here.
Where do I go if I arrive late?
For performances at Hobby Center, there will be no late seating. Please arrive early in order to allow adequate time to find your seat.
How early should I arrive before a performance?
If your tickets are at Will Call, try to be at the box office 1 hour prior to the performance. Ticket lines can be long and traffic can be unpredictable, so plan to arrive early.
If you have your tickets already, you still need to allow plenty of time for possible traffic and parking. Entering Hobby Center at least 1 hour before the performance will allow you time to get your seat and look at your program.
What should I wear to a performance?
It is suggested that you wear business casual clothes -- or more formal attire -- to performances. People attend performances in a wide variety of clothes, but typically tend to dress up for the event. The theater can sometimes get cold, especially in the orchestra section.
How long do the ballets last?
The time for each ballet varies, but usually between two and a half to three hours. Two weeks prior to the performance, you may check the performance information page under Season Calendar for the production that you will attend to get more specific information on length of performance. Or you may call the box office at 713-227-ARTS (713-227-2787 or 1-800-828-2787).

If I require wheelchair access, whom should I contact?
You would need to contact the box office at 713-227-2787 to inquire about purchasing wheelchair accessible seating.
Does Houston Ballet offer narrated performances for the visually impaired?
Houston Ballet provides audio description services for visually impaired patrons in partnership with volunteers from Sight into Sound (SIS), a Houston non-profit organization serving the blind and visually-impaired community. Patrons should request narrative services by calling the box office at 713-227-2787 at least two weeks prior to their performance in order to arrange for a narrator to be able to attend the performance.
Trained volunteers read the program prior to each performance and use succinct, vivid, and imaginative language to describe the visual images and activities. SIS volunteers describe set design in detail, the dancer's physical appearances, costumes, movements, and explaination of audience reaction. Patrons wear headsets provided to them to listen to the describer as the production takes place. This service is provided free of charge by Houston Ballet.
Patrons with Children FAQs
If I have to remove my child from the theater, can I re-enter the performance?
Out of respect for other audience members, no one can enter the theater while the dancers are performing. You may watch the performance on closed-circuit television until the next intermission.
At what age is it appropriate to bring a child to the ballet?
Children attending a ballet performance should be able to remain quiet and attentive for a two-hour performance. Houston Ballet generally recommends that children be at least two years of age to attend a performance. But individual maturity levels vary, and parents know their child's level of maturity best. Story ballets, such at The Nutcracker, are an excellent introduction for children. No matter what age your child is, he or she must have a ticket. Also please note that parents will be asked to remove children creating a disturbance during the performance out of respect for other guests.
Where are Houston Ballet's administrative offices located?
Houston Ballet's administrative offices are located at 601 Preston Street, Houston, TX 77002 in downtown Houston, near the Wortham Theater Center. Standard office hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Please note this is not the same place the performances are held. Please refer to houstonballet.org for venue information for specific performances.
