A Defining Moment
I have a few, but dancing Oberon on opening night in John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night's Dream was a very special moment in my career. Working with John was an incredible experience that I will always cherish.

Early in his career, he won several prestigious awards, including First Place at the Young British Dancer of the Year competition and the Gold Medal at the Seoul International Ballet Competition, as well as receiving the Encouragement Award at the Prix de Lausanne in 2004.
Robison has danced with renowned companies across Europe and North America, including Corella Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, and San Francisco Ballet. He previously danced with Houston Ballet before returning to the Company in 2025 as a Principal Dancer.
Known for his powerful technique and versatility, Robison has performed leading roles in many classical and contemporary works, including Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Basilio in Don Quixote, Count Albrecht in Giselle, and the Prince in The Nutcracker. He has been especially celebrated for his interpretation of Oberon in John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, a role he described as one of the most defining moments of his career. His repertoire also includes works by George Balanchine, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, William Forsythe, and John Cranko, among many more.
At Houston Ballet, Robison has performed numerous ballets by Artistic Director Stanton Welch AM, including Giselle, Swan Lake, Clear, Powder, Maninyas, and La Cathedrale Engloutie. He has also originated roles in Welch’s Zodiac and The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.
Robison’s performances have earned him critical acclaim, including nominations and selections in Dance Europe’s Critics’ Choice lists for Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer and a National Dance Award nomination for Outstanding Male Classical Performance in 2018. He has appeared internationally at galas and festivals, including Festival di Spoleto in Italy, Despertares Gala in Mexico City, Festival Napa Valley, and most recently, the World Ballet Festival in the U.S. and IBStage Star Gala in New York.
Outside the studio, Robison enjoys relaxing by the pool, watching films, and following sports. His artistic influences include choreographers William Forsythe, Alexei Ratmansky, and John Neumeier, whose work continues to inspire his evolving career onstage.
