Adapted Dance takes existing Houston Ballet Education and Community Engagement programs and adapts them to populations with specific needs. Aside from our two on-going programs, trained staff can also partner with Houston-area schools to create a program especially for your students. For more info, contact the Director of Education and Community Engagment Jennifer Sommers at jsommers@houstonballet.org.

Adapted Dance Classes/DSAH

These free classes for children with Down Syndrome emphasize strength, flexibility and balance while encouraging creative expression and teamwork. Classes are co-sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of Houston.

Dance for Parkinson's

In partnership with the Houston Area Parkinson's Society, these fun and energizing classes allow students to tap into their creativity and apply some of the ground-breaking approaches that are proving to benefit those with Parkinson's.

Our daughter looks forward to every ballet class. Her confidence has soared and she considers herself a dancer. An entire new world has opened up for Tricia since participating in the adaptive ballet classes.
