CHAPERONED HOUSING

CENTER FOR DANCE DORMITORY

Houston Ballet Academy’s chaperoned dormitory is located on the 6th floor of the Houston Ballet Center for Dance. The dormitory houses 16 students and a live-in chaperone. This housing option is offered by invitation only from the artistic staff.

  • Each dorm room houses two students. Two of these rooms are connected by a bathroom in which the four students share.
  • CFD dorm residents share a common kitchen and living space.
  • Three community meals per week provided by HBA; students taken grocery shopping weekly.
  • There are several places for students to get meals or necessities outside of the weekly grocery run within walking distance including: CVS, Lyric Market, Post, Underground Hall, Frank’s Pizza, Barnaby’s Café, Birraporetti’s, etc.

INDEPENDENT LIVING

MARKET SQUARE TOWER

In partnership with Market Square Tower, Houston Ballet Academy leases 10 apartments that house 18 students and a resident advisor. The resident advisor is available to students as needed. This housing option is offered by invitation only from the artistic staff.

  • Students live in double-occupancy apartments and are responsible for their own cooking, cleaning and transportation.
  • An on-site Resident Advisor is available for student support.
  • Student Life Manager works with RA to help facilitate roommates/living arrangements.

OFF-SITE HOUSING

Students, who are 14-16 years of age or older and are not invited to live at Houston Ballet housing, are required to live with a parent or guardian, who is 18 years old age or older. Students, who are 17 years of age or older, may live independently in apartments located withing walking distance of the Houston Ballet Center for Dance and the Wortham Theater Center.  The Student Life Manager can assist families with apartment locations and prospective roommates.
