2026-27 SCHOOL-YEAR Auditions:
Sunday, December 13, 2026
Ages 7-11: 10:30am-11:30am
Ages 12-18*: 12:00pm-1:30pm
Audition Fee: $50 USD
REGISTRATION OPENS ON NOVEMBER 15TH
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience; dancers ages 14-18 will present pointe work during the audition class.
2027-28 SCHOOL-YEAR Auditions:
Sunday, June 13, 2027
Ages 7-9: 10:30am-11:30am
Ages 10-11: 10:30am-11:30am
Ages 12-14*: 12:00pm-1:30pm
Ages 15-18*: 12:00pm-1:30pm
Audition Fee: $50 USD
REGISTRATION OPENS ON MAY 1ST

School-Year Video Auditions
The video audition application for the 2026-2027 school year will close on July 31, 2026.
All video auditions must be submitted through Acceptd.
Video Audition Fee: $75.00 USD
Emailed video links and mailed DVDs will not be acknowledged or returned.
The Nutcracker Auditions
Houston Ballet Academy will hold open auditions on Sunday, August 30, 2026 for the 2026 production of Stanton Welch’s The Nutcracker!
Dancers ages 7-16 years old are eligible to audition.
Auditions for current HBA students will be held Saturday, August 29. Students should register through their PowerSchool Portal.
Performance Dates:
November 27 - December 28, 2026
If selected, students will need to be available for rehearsals and performances during the Thanksgiving weekend and over the Winter Holiday Break.

Summer Program Auditions
Audition registration for in-person auditions will open on November 1, 2026, and the video audition application will open on January 11, 2027.
Houston Ballet II Auditions
All Houston Ballet II applicants must first attend a summer intensive audition or submit a video audition as a preliminary requirement. Applicants may then be invited to audition in person at Houston Ballet Academy.
Videos for the 2027-2028 season may be submitted November 1, 2026 – March 1, 2027.
