A Defining Moment
I remember the moment I fell in love with ballet very well. I was 5 years old when I was watching dress rehearsal of the ballet Le Corsaire. I paused for a moment—and couldn’t take my eyes off the stage until the very end of the ballet. I was mesmerized by everything I saw: the sets, the lights, dancers in costumes, and the way they instantly transformed into their roles the moment they stepped on stage. This incredible world felt like a different universe, and I felt like I belong here. Becoming a ballerina was my earliest childhood dream, and now every time I’m backstage I think to myself that my dream came true.
