A Defining Moment
My defining moment as a dancer came in 2021 when I was given the opportunity to perform and record my own contemporary solo for the Houston Ballet Academy Showcase. Amid the challenges of the Covid pandemic, our filming took place alone in the studio, transforming that space of isolation into our stage. It was a pivotal moment that not only showcased my choreography but also reaffirmed my passion for dance, reminding me of why I love this art form.
Bio
Olivia McBain joins Houston Ballet as an Apprentice in July 2025 from Houston Ballet II. She was promoted to Corps de Ballet in July 2026. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she started training with North Atlanta Dance Academy. She joined the Houston Ballet Academy as a Pro 1 and later Houston Ballet II.
