ADULT INTENSIVES

LEVELS OFFERED 

Advanced Beginner- Students should have basic knowledge of the fundamental ballet terminology, movements, and positions. This level will be appropriate for those who have participated in Introduction to Ballet technique classes. This level will allot more time for explanation and review of exercises and steps.  

Intermediate/Advanced- Designed for students who have taken classes at the Intermediate level and above for a minimum of 3 years. Class and instruction cadence will be at a faster pace, and students will have the option to take Pointe class as a part of the curriculum. 

This 3-day intensive will be themed around Stanton Welch’s Madame Butterfly and will be offered at both the Advanced Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced levels. 

Optional Additions: All participants will receive a discount code for 1 ticket to the evening performance of Madame Butterfly on March 13, 2027, and access to book a private, personalized body conditioning session with Houston Ballet’s Health & Wellness team. 

June 2–6, 2027 

This year’s Summer Intensive will be themed around Stanton Welch’s Swan Lake. Two registration options are available:  

5-day enrollment (Wednesday – Sunday)- Intermediate/Advanced level only. 

2-day enrollment (Saturday & Sunday only)- Advanced Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced levels 

Optional Additions: All participants will receive a discount code for 1 ticket to the evening performance of The Rite of Spring and for Swan Lake ,TBD, scheduled during the Adult Summer Intensive. There will be a performance preview presentation by Houston Ballet Academy Artistic Staff for The Rite of Spring during the class day on Saturday, June 5th. 

Adult Intensive participants may also sign up for private sessions with Houston Ballet’s Health & Wellness team for personalized body conditioning sessions.
