Network and Computer Internship

Department: IT
Reports to: Senior Technology Manager & Network and Computer Associate
Status: Unpaid Internship
Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Summary: The Network and Computer Intern’s primary responsibility is to assist the Network and Computer Associate with day to day computer and printer requests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Desktop, Printer and User Support
  • Assist with Application installation and support (Microsoft, Symantec, Tessitura)
  • Assist with hardware, software and printer cartridges
  • Assist with creating and maintaining documentation
  • Assist with technology inventory
  • Provide basic support on network hardware as needed
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 40 pounds
  • Other tasks as assigned

Minimum REQUIRED Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing an Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Information Systems or related field
  • 0-1 years of experience in Desktop support, Printer Configuration and Exchange/Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting connectivity problems
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol (DNS, WINS, DHCP, Multicast)
  • Knowledge of security technologies (SSL, VPN, and Firewall)
  • Familiar with common business and productivity software
  • Customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and initiative
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred ADDITIONAL Qualifications:

  • IT Certification
