Peter Franc was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and raised in Chicago, Illinois and Atlanta, Georgia. He received his training from Maniya Barredo at Metropolitan Ballet Theatre; Helen Starr, Bruce Simpson, Alun Jones at the Louisville Ballet; and from the faculty of Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. Mr. Franc also trained for four summers in Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy summer intensive program. In 2003, Mr. Franc joined the Louisville Ballet and danced as a trainee for one season, where he was featured in George Balanchine’s Valse Fantasie, Robert North’s Troy Game, and Adam Hoagland’s Cold Virtues. He also spent a year dancing as a member of Houston Ballet II before graduating from Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Michael Wasmund Award and joined Houston Ballet. Mr. Franc was promoted to Demi Soloist in 2007. He has performed principal and soloist roles in many contemporary and classical works with Houston Ballet, including The Prince in The Nutcracker, Louis Auguste in Stanton Welch's Marie, Gurn in La Sylphide and the evil stepsister Florinda in Stanton Welch's Cinderella. Mr. Franc has also been featured in Stanton Welch’s Blue, Falling, Red Earth, Clear and Velocity as well as Jiri Kylian's Petite Mort and Forgotten Land, Hans van Manen's Solo and Afternoon of a Faun by Jerome Robbins.
