I have a lot of favorites! Among them, the classical masterpieces such as Swan Lake, Giselle and La Bayadère
One defining moment...
My first time on stage, I was 10 years old. I loved the process of rehearsing, staging, sets and costumes -- the whole process leading up to the opening of the curtain.
Ana Calderón trained at the Royal Conservatory of Dance in Madrid. In 2004 she was awarded the Grand Prize from the Princess Grace Foundation of Monaco. Her professional career began the following year at the Zürich Ballet in Switzerland, where she performed in various classical ballets under the direction of Heinz Spoerli, including Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Coppélia, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Les Indes Galantes, as well as as Capture by Nandita Shankardass, and Heinz Spoerli's La Milonga, Elegie Für tänzer, and Chas. From August 2007 to April 2008 she performed with "Ángel Corella and Friends", and soon thereafter joined Angel Corella's Barcelona Ballet, where she was promoted to soloist in 2010. Calderón's repertoire with Barcelona Ballet includes Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 by Clark Tippet, Natalia Makarova's La Bayadère, Angel Corella's String Sextet, Le Corsaire Suite, Swan Lake, Macbeth, George Balanchine's Who Cares?, Christopher Wheeldon's DGV & VIII, as well as Raymonda and Paquita.
