ADULT OPEN CLASS program

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The open class dance program is geared for dancers, ages 14 and older, from novice to professional.  Classes offered include beginning, intermediate, and advanced ballet.  Teachers are available to assess a student's level in class and make appropriate level recommendations upon request.

HBBSA does not gurantee pianists for any of its classes. 

Now Introducing Extreme Street Jazz!
Starting October 1, 2009 we will be offering a jazz class for the Adult Class Program. Extreme street jazz is a mixture of street dance and technical jazz dancing.
Teacher: Alex Arizpe
Time: Thursdays from 7:15-8:30pm
Starting date: Oct. 1
Cost: $15 per class
Ages: 14 and up
Experience needed: intermediate to advanced level--some jazz and hip hop experience needed
Attire: dance sneakers or jazz shoes, preferably knee pads but not required, and comfortable dance wear.

*If you have any questions you can contact Alex Arizpe on his facebook. This will be a trial class to see if minimum capacity is met and will run up to December 17 in which 2010 scheduling will be announced.

Beginning Ballet

Beginning ballet is the perfect way for those who are starting ballet again after many years, or those that have enough knowlege of the ballet curriculum to complete a faster moving beginning ballet class.

Intermediate Ballet

This class is designed for those who have taken at least two years of current ballet training, or completed the introductory ballet class.  Emphasis in intermediate ballet is placed on developing technical strength and more advanced movement qualities.

Advanced Ballet

This course is for experienced adults and teens who have had at least four years of ballet training.  This class is taught at a professional level and uses the full range of classical ballet technique.

Please note that students wanting to wear pointe shoes may do so at their own risk in the advanced classes, and at the discretion of the instructor.
