From the beginning, Houston Ballet has reflected the independent, can-do spirit of the city it calls home. Like the entrepreneurs who founded Houston and the achievers who made it great, we at Houston Ballet dared to dream. We imagined a world-class company, a preeminent performing space, an academy and training facility like no other in the country. As we have grown from 16 dancers to 60, Houston Ballet has always maintained the highest standard. We’ve trained and attracted global talent, dancers with the classical training that allows them to move seamlessly across all genres. These dancers inspire choreographers to do their very best work. In fact, every ballet in the 2019–2020 season was created on Houston Ballet dancers. Join us as we celebrate 50 years of creativity with classics like Ben Stevenson’s The Sleeping Beauty and Stanton Welch’s Romeo and Juliet and world premieres from famed choreographers such as Trey McIntyre, Arthur Pita and Zhang Disha. Houston Ballet’s 50th anniversary season is one of celebration. Celebration for all that we have achieved. Celebration of all that is yet to come.
