View 22/23 Season Brochure

This season is headlined by three spectacular story ballets that highlight the depth of talent and artistry of the Company. Opening with Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan, the season gets off to a soaring start with magical flying sequences and a ballet that the entire family can enjoy. Next up is Stanton Welch’s Romeo & Juliet, returning to the Wortham Theater stage for just the second time since its critically acclaimed debut in 2015. We conclude the season with a grand finale of ballet’s most famous love story, Stanton Welch’s luscious production of Swan Lake.

This year’s mixed repertory programs are equally impressive in scope and scale, with world premieres in all three! Good Vibrations brings the long-awaited premiere of the Company’s first commissioned work from acclaimed choreographer, Arthur Pita. Summer & Smoke features a new narrative one-act ballet from Cathy Marston based on the eponymous Tennessee Williams play. Lastly, Divergence will house a world premiere from Justin Peck, choreographer of Academy Award Best Picture nominee West Side Story. These triple bills combine audience-favorite ballets with exciting innovation from three of the world’s most sought-after choreographers.

Subscribing today ensures the best seats in the house to see all 6 of these world-class ballets, plus savings of up to 17% over single tickets – it’s like getting Swan Lake for free! We can't wait for you to join us for a sensational 2022-2023 season as we showcase the best of what Houston Ballet has to offer!
