After months of conversations, planning multiple scenarios and monitoring conditions along with the guidance of the infectious disease experts at Houston Methodist, Houston Ballet has made the heartbreaking decision to cancel the remaining in-person performances in the current 2020-2021 season, running through June. This includes La Bayadère, Rock Roll & Tutus, Rite of Spring, Aladdin and the Academy Spring Showcasein addition to the previously canceled Love Letters, Mayerling, Margaret Alkek Williams Jubilee of Dance and The Nutcracker. The safety of our patrons, staff, dancers, students and community remains our top priority, and despite our best efforts, returning to the stage at Wortham Theater safely this season is not in the cards. With this decision, the value of all full season and mini season subscriptions from the current 2020-2021 season will move to the following 2021-2022 season.

As we have done with Dancing with Myself and Restoration, Houston Ballet will continue to evolve and adapt to the new world that we live in during these challenging times. While the remainder of this season will look different, we are 100% committed to continuing to create dance for Houston to enjoy through virtual experiences in the interim of live performances in Spring 2021.

We also have two digital holiday experiences planned for December 2020. The Margaret Alkek Williams Jubilee of Dance will take place virtually, exclusively for subscribers, on Friday, December 4. And this year's digital holiday spectacular, Nutcracker Sweets, will feature performances to your favorite holiday songs along with an abridged version of Stanton Welch's The Nutcracker.  Tickets to Nutcracker Sweets are on sale now for $35!

We wanted to say THANK YOU for your continued support this season. We are so grateful for the unwavering loyalty that the Houston community has shown us through the challenges and changes of 2020. We look forward to the day that we can celebrate our love for dance together on stage safely.
