Everybody loves a good story, especially when it's told by the best and brightest talent in the world. As we launch a new identity, Houston Ballet is demonstrating once again why the company has achieved global acclaim.
With the 2016/17 Season, Houston Ballet is reprising three ballets that I created on the company: the globally recognized and poignant Madame Butterfly, the empowering production of Cinderella and the vibrant and colorful interpretation of La Bayadére. We're introducing the North American premiere of The Tempest, a powerful tale by the world's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare, as conceived and choreographed by the great ballet storyteller David Bintley. And we're presenting one-act ballets by the world's most renowned choreographers, including Houston Ballet premieres by Jerome Robbins, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, and Justin Peck.
All this and my brand new production of The Nutcracker, a spectacle not to be missed.
Come, share our stories with us. Thank you for supporting Houston Ballet. I look forward to seeing you in the theater!
