Vi Dieu found his love for dance when he was introduced to Hip-Hop during his sophomore year in high school. This passion led him to pursue a degree in dance at the University of Houston School of Theatre and Dance. Training in modern and ballet at UH deepened his love, understanding, and appreciation of dance. While pursuing his dance education, he was employed as a Marketing Assistant/ Choreographer for Radio Disney AM 1590 where he worked for 4 years. Vi’s love for dance helped him found the organization United as One Dance (Unason); where he encouraged members to learn and appreciate all types of dance and learn its history. Under his guidance, the organization won awards and was featured in different programs. In Spring 2015, Vi graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts; major in Dance and minor in Interdisciplinary Arts. Currently, he dance professionally for Psophonia Dance Company, Karen Stokes Dance Company and remain as Unason’s Director/Choreographer. Since Mid-August of 2015, Vi began teaching for the Houston Ballet’s Education and Community Engagement Program, Learning from the Masters; where he mainly focuses on Hip-Hop dance. What began as a hobby years ago grew into a passion that carved a path for him to learn, love, and appreciate the Art of Dance.
