As the Education & Community Engagement (ECE) Coordinator, Cantrell brings several years of experience as a public-school teacher, theatre director and coach. He has extensive knowledge organizing youth development programs in an effort to increase access and equity in the performing arts.
He served as a teacher within the Houston Independent School District (HISD) and was also his school’s Fine Arts Team Lead and Theatre Arts Director- in this capacity, Cantrell successfully executed numerous school productions with his students.
He is also an alumnus of Teach for America, a national corps of leaders who commit to teaching in low-income schools and work to increase their students' opportunities in life.
In addition to his professional experience, Cantrell is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s in Theatre.
