We’re pleased to announce our new season and our triumphant return to the Wortham Theater Center, following the rousing success of our first-ever Hometown Tour in venues across our beloved city. Navigating the unprecedented challenges resulting from Hurricane Harvey truly showcased the resiliency and tenacity of Houston Ballet and our cherished community of supporters. We look forward to taking the stage back in our home venue this upcoming season.

For our triumphant return home, we have curated an enthralling collection of works to delight every audience. My dream of bringing Sylvia to the stage comes true in a World Premiere that intertwines the legend of Sylvia with the mystique of Greek mythology to create a romantic tale fraught with adventure and desire that you won’t want to miss. My beloved Marie also returns with extravagant costumes and riveting historic drama, alongside treasured family favorite Coppélia in all of its colorful, lighthearted charm. The beauty and comedy of The Merry Widow will enchant once again and we know you’ll be thrilled with ROBBINS, our centennial celebration of legendary choreographer Jerome Robbins showcasing three of his most famous pieces. Our final mixed repertory program, Premieres, consists entirely of Houston Ballet and World Premieres featuring fresh, dynamic artistry from esteemed choreographers Aszure Barton, Justin Peck, and Jiří Kylián. Our beloved Margaret Alkek Williams Jubilee of Dance and Academy Spring Showcase also return to the Wortham so make plans to join us for these celebrations. And of course we can’t forget the crown jewel, The Nutcracker, the magnificent holiday spectacle that will launch this season’s wonderful artistic journey.
