BIO
Aaron Sharratt is originally from Tucson, Arizona, and received his training at Academy of Ballet in Tucson, Arizona, Ballet Tucson, and Houston Ballet Academy. In 2010, Mr. Sharratt was a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland, winning the Oak Foundation award which earned him an apprenticeship with Houston Ballet. Mr. Sharratt joined Houston Ballet as an apprentice in 2010 and became a member of the corps de ballet in 2011.
Mr. Sharratt has performed feature roles Twyla Tharp’s The Brahms-Haydn Variations (Principal Couples), the Prince in Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker, and Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Song of the Earth (Principal role of “Death”). Mr. Sharratt’s classical and contemporary repertoire includes: Stanton Welch’s La Bayadère, Madame Butterfly, Clear, Brigade, The Rite of Spring, Divergence, The Gentlemen, Bolero, Cinderella, Sons de l'âme (Sounds of the Soul), Marie, Of Blessed Memory, Paquita, Play, Swan Lake (Prince’s Friends), The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra (Horns), The Core, Tu Tu. Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker (Prince, Harlequin, Nutcracker, Spanish, Mirliton Man, Chinese), Romeo and Juliet; Jiří Kylián’s Sinfonietta George Balanchine’s Ballet Imperial, Theme and Variations, The Four Temperaments, Jewels; Jerome Robbins’s The Concert; Mark Morris’s Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes; Sir Frederick Ashton’s Les Patineurs; Trey McIntyre’s Peter Pan; William Forsythe's In the middle, somewhat elevated; David Bintley’s Aladdin (Gold); Twyla Tharp’s The Brahms-Haydn Variations; Ronald Hynd’s The Merry Widow; John Cranko’s The Taming of the Shrew; John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream; and Jorma Elo’s ONE/end/ONE.
