Bio

Luzemberg Santana was born in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil. He studied at the prestigious Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil under celebrated choreographers Vladamir Vasiliev and Ekatarina Maksimova. Prior to joining Houston Ballet’s Corps de Ballet, Luzemberg spent one season at Tulsa Ballet, and five seasons at Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Throughout his career, he has danced many Principal and Soloist roles including the Prince and Mouse King in The Nutcracker, Espada and Fandango Lead in Don Quixote, and Prince Siegfried and the Jester in Swan Lake. He has performed many full-length ballets including Giselle, Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Dracula, Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge, Peter Pan, The Handmaid’s Taleand many others.

Luzemberg has worked with famous artists and choreographers such as Vladmir Vasiliev, Galina Kravchenko, Cecília Kerche, Jeanette Vondersaar, Hilde Koch, Lila York, James Kudelka, Anna Marie Holmes, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Helen Pickett, Ma Cong, Val Caniparoli, Young Soon Hue among others.
