Houston Ballet Prepares A Virtual Treat, Nutcracker Sweets

[Dec. 2, 2020] While the ongoing pandemic presents challenges for performing arts organizations, Houston Ballet seizes the opportunity to make its beloved holiday tradition more accessible through an affordable digital program. Nutcracker Sweets presented by Houston Methodist Hospital launches for on-demand viewing December 15 – January 8 with an abbreviated version of Stanton Welch’s The Nutcracker and new works for the holiday season.

Houston Ballet Celebrates Resiliency with Virtual Onstage Dinner and Jubilee of Dance

[Dec. 8, 2020] Houston Ballet celebrated its generous supporters and the resiliency and talent of its world-class company with two virtual events on Friday, December 4. The evening began with the virtual Onstage Dinner, followed by a gifted invitation for all Houston Ballet donors and subscribers to partake in the annual Margaret Alkek Williams Jubilee of Dance.

Houston Ballet Updates Fans on Changes to its 2020-2021 Season

[Nov. 18, 2020] Audiences will still enjoy Houston Ballet’s world-class talent, but it will remain virtual through the end the reimagined 2020-2021 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization cancels the rest of its intended in-person performances at the Wortham Theater Center through June 2021 and prepares for an array of digital experiences.

Frame x Frame Film Fest to Play on at Houston Ballet’s New Drive-In Theater

[Oct. 20, 2020] The third annual Frame x Frame Film Fest takes on a new format at Houston Ballet’s Drive-In. The parking lot of Houston Ballet’s Center for Dance will host the festival’s lineup of films, showing Thursdays-Saturdays from November 5- December 5.

Houston Ballet Cancels the Remainder of Its 2019-2020 Season

[April 6, 2020] Houston Ballet announces its cancellation of the rest of its 2019-2020 season due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Performances effected include the rescheduled dates for Forged in Houston (May 21-31), Romeo & Juliet (June 4-14) and From Houston to the World, which was in the works to be rescheduled later in the season. Additionally, its community performances at Miller Outdoor Theater and Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and much-anticipated tour to Spain this summer have also been canceled.
