Merchandising & Sales Assistant

We are looking for a Seasonal Sales Assistant to help in Houston Ballet retail store. In this role, you will greet customers and provide them with product information or suggestions. Your other tasks involve keeping the sales floor clean, organized, and stocked with inventory. Since this is our busy season, we serve a high number of customers throughout the day. Employees must follow company policy and uphold brand standards at all times.  *Please note: This position does require significant work time outside the normal business hours.

Director of Individual Giving

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Individual Giving is a calls officer position focused on identifying, cultivating, and stewarding major gifts of $15,000 or more and ensuring the integration of legacy giving opportunities. Additionally, this position will oversee a team of five professional fundraisers focused on identifying, soliciting, and engaging a strong pipeline of annual and major gift supporters.

Academy Resident Dorm Supervisor

The Resident Dorm Supervisor serves as a bridge for students’ independent living, providing a safe, clean and resourceful environment for Houston Ballet students.  This is a full-time, live-in benefits-eligible position.  that supervises the students who live in the Houston Ballet Center for Dance dorms.

IT Operations Manager

We are seeking an IT Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day technology needs for the organization and serve as technical lead on various projects. Primary responsibilities include Helpdesk management, network/infrastructure/systems management, project management, and departmental administrative tasks. This position will report to the Director of Information Technology.

Artistic Administrative Associate

The Artistic Administrative Associate provides high-level administrative support to the Artistic Department. Duties of the Artistic Administrative Associate are clerical and project-based and include scheduling travel and meetings, handling information requests and correspondence, and creating detailed documents. This position is often privy to confidential information and as such, requires diplomacy and discretion.

Public Relations Manager

This position maximizes Houston Ballet’s external presence in the media and assists the Director of Marketing & PR in all projects about the Marketing and PR department.  You will develop and implement an annual PR plan that supports Houston Ballet’s strategic plan, aligns with institutional priorities, and promotes performances and programs.  In this role, you will craft pitches, book interviews, and coordinate all media coverage including print, TV, and radio, and also maintain high visibility for Houston Ballet by identifying and securing local, regional, national, and international press opportunities and coverage

Ballet Master

The Ballet Master works directly under the Artistic Director's supervision.  The work relies on applying extensive knowledge of ballet and teaching techniques for various classes and rehearsals.

Manager of Student Life

The Student Manager oversees student life for the Academy’s Professional Program and Summer Intensive Program. The Student Life Manager hires and supervises the dorm chaperones, and resident advisors and facilitates Health & Wellness, Career Planning, and Social programming for students.  The Student Life Manager communicates regularly with students, their families, and the Academy faculty and staff.  The successful candidate is detail-oriented, can multi-task in a high-volume environment, and has experience working with teenagers.

Academy Instructor

Provide instruction for Academy classes – prepare and teach ballet and pointe in the Middle and Uupper School.

Part-time Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for delivering general Marketplace information to callers. The CSRs use basic office equipment and technology such as telephones, email, and web browsers to perform their duties. The CSRs assume ticket order responsibility and processing of payments during performances and throughout the work week.

Academy Class Monitor

Part-Time

This is a part-time, in-person position located in downtown Houston, Texas. The position pays $15 per hour.

Academy Class Monitors will help ensure the safety and security of Houston Ballet Academy students at the Center for Dance, located in downtown Houston. Academy Class Monitors will handle COVID-19 screening and implement Academy health and safety procedures.  All Houston Ballet employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Hours for the position range from 15-25 per week, depending on availability.
