CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

BEGINNER BALLET
This class is designed for students who are new or returning to Ballet. This class will provide an opportunity to gain a strong foundation of technique. Moving at a slower pace, class will focus on Ballet positions, vocabulary, and proper alignment.

ADVANCED BEGINNER BALLET
This course is the perfect way for those who are starting ballet again after many years, or those that have enough knowledge of the ballet curriculum to complete a faster moving beginning ballet class.

INTERMEDIATE BALLET
This class is designed for those who have taken at least two years of current ballet training, or completed the introductory ballet class. Emphasis in intermediate ballet is placed on developing technical strength and more advanced movement qualities.

ADVANCED BALLET
This course is for experienced adults and teens who have had at least four years of ballet training. This class is taught at a professional level and uses the full range of classical ballet technique. Please note that students wanting to wear pointe shoes may do so at their own risk in the advanced classes, and at the discretion of the instructor.

YAMUNA
This full body workout utilizes the powerful effect of a simple Yamuna Body Rolling (YBR) ball. The YBR ball challenges and unlocks the uneven surfaces of the musculoskeletal system. You will perform exercises using your body weight and small movements to release tension from the neck, back, legs muscles, and more. At the end of class you should feel energized, strengthened, and encouraged ready to embrace the rest of the day!

BODY CONDITIONING
During these new Body Conditioning classes, Aki will teach exercises utilizing body weight for resistance rather than exercise equipment. These strength and conditioning exercises will help improve alignment and posture. Proper movement patterns will be learned using Functional Movement Systems (FMS). FMS is a tool that many professional ballet companies and sports teams use as a form of injury prevention. The class is 75 minutes long.
