Class offerings:
Ballet Technique, Pointe, Partnering, Men’s Technique, Repertory, Coaching, Variations, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Musical Theater, Character, Yoga, Yamuna, Pilates Mat Classes, Gyrotonics, Dance History, Nutrition
Performances & Class Observations:
End-of Summer Performances – four in total for students in Levels 5-8
Class Observations – families will be able to attend a scheduled Ballet Technique class the final week of the program
American Festival for the Arts Choreographic Experience – available to students in Level 8
AMERICAN FESTIVAL FOR THE ARTS CHOREOGRAPHIC EXPERIENCE
Since 1997, the American Festival for the Arts and Houston Ballet have provided a unique collaborative opportunity for the Summer Intensive Program students in Level 8. Interested students work hand-in-hand with young aspiring composers to produce original works of both dance and music. This “world-premiere” is unique to Houston Ballet and offers students the exciting chance to explore the techniques and process of creating, rehearsing, and performing short pieces of original choreography. Since its inception, students have created over 125 new creations.
