HOUSTON BALLET II DANCERS
MAKE GUEST APPEARANCES IN THE NUTCRACKER
DURING HOLIDAY SEASON
Houston, Texas - Several international artists of Houston Ballet II, the second company featuring exciting young dancers from around the globe launching their careers, will make guest appearances performing principal roles in productions of The Nutcracker in Texas and Louisiana during the month of December.
On Saturday, December 7 in Monroe, Louisiana, Houston Ballet II dancer Michael Ryan, a native of Plano, Texas, will partner with Aoi Fujiwara, a native of Osaka Japan, in the roles of the prince and the Sugar Plum Fairy in Twin City Ballet's production of The Nutcracker. On Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15, Houston Ballet II dancer Yubal Eduardo Morales Rubio, a native of Mexico City, will appear as the Prince opposite Ms. Fujiwara as the Sugar Plum Fairy with Tri Parish Ballet in Denham Springs, Louisiana. Under the direction of Stanton Welch, Artistic Director and Shelly Power, Academy Director, Houston Ballet II dancers are led by the internationally acclaimed coaches and teachers Claudio Muñoz, ballet master for Houston Ballet II; Sabrina Lenzi, ballet mistress for Houston Ballet II and Houston Ballet's artistic staff. Houston Ballet II second company members tour both nationally and internationally, and have performed in Mexico, China, Hungary, Guatemala, and Lausaunne, Switzerland where Houston Ballet II performed at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne dance competition.
