Auditions for Second Horn in the Houston Ballet Orchestra will be scheduled in September at the Wortham Theater Center in Houston. The audition dates will be confirmed very shortly.
Houston Ballet Orchestra is paid on a per service basis. The current minimum service guarantee is 116 services. There is a 6.54% contribution to the American Federation of Musicians and Employers' Pension Plan and a 4% contribution to the Entertainment Industry Flex Plan.
Houston Ballet's performances span the period from late August through mid-June each season. Each residency is approximately 4-5 weeks. Nutcracker runs 5-6 weeks. Houston Ballet alternates usage of the Wortham Theater Center with the other resident company, Houston Grand Opera (HGO). Many members of the ballet orchestra also play for the opera.
If the second horn position is won by a current orchestra member the resulting section position may be offered.

Audition Deposit Required
An audition deposit of $50.00 (checks only, made payable to "Houston Ballet") will be required once the audition date has been announced. The audition date for this position is pending.
