Development Associate
Department: Institutional Giving
Reports to: Director of Institutional Giving
Hours: Full-time exempt
Houston Ballet Institutional Giving department is responsible for the contributed income from the following sources: Foundations, Corporations, Government Agencies and Legacies. Additionally, the department is the liaison with the Ballet Academy's Education and Outreach department and secures sponsorship for their programs. Frequent interaction with Board Members and sponsor contacts will occur therefore this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Job responsibilities:
- Process contributions and maintain donor records in Tessitura
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Works on corporate proposals as needed
- Assists with government grant applications and compiles statistics
- Assists with final reports to foundations and government sources
- Participates in working at special events, including green room receptions, etc. as needed
- Coordinates benefits to corporate sponsors -- mailings of press releases, Houston Ballet News, Playbills, dress rehearsal passes, etc. to appropriate corporate and foundation sponsors.
- Assists Director of Institutional Giving and Institutional Giving Manager as needed
- Maintains institutional donor files
- Updates Institutional department website as needed
- Assists with Capital Campaign as needed
- Acts as a liaison between our department and the Education and Outreach department
- Relieve at reception desk once weekly
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Institutional Giving
