ARTISTIC COORDINATOR
department: Artistic
Reports to: Artistic director
This position is the center of communication between Artistic Director, Artistic Staff, dancers, visiting artists and various other individuals and departments. Salary (full time-exempt) is commensurate with experience. Competitive benefit package included.
The ideal Artistic Coordinator job candidate possesses:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and calmly under pressure
- Flexibility to work late evenings and weekends (including Thanksgiving weekend & Christmas week)
- Previous work experience in the performing arts arena and/or non-profit preferred
- Knowledge of AGMA contracts and/or union contracts preferred
- Reliable transportation
Artistic Coordinator duties include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate administrative duties for Artistic Director and Artistic Staff
- Create/Coordinate schedules and casting
- Maintain all correspondence on behalf of Artistic Director
- Schedule and facilitate meetings with media, administrative staff and dancers with Artistic Director
- Attend all performances, dress and technical rehearsals
- Coordinate and disseminate casting with all departments
- Coordinate studio space and rehearsal time with Academy
- Maintain and coordinate Artistic Director's calendar, schedule and travel
- Type and distribute notes for stage rehearsals
- Coordinate all dancer and staff evaluations by Artistic Director
- Organize and correspond with all guest choreographers, designers and auditioning dancers
- Liaise between staff and dancers
- Accompany Artistic Director to meetings to take notes
- Other duties as assigned by Artistic Director
