Mr. Jun Shuang Huang joined Houston Ballet in May 2010 as a principal dancer. Huang began his dance training and was an honor student at the Shanghai Dance School in China. His superb technique has won him many awards including Special Jury Prize finalist award at the Prix de Lausanne International Dance Competition in Switzerland, the Junior Third at the 10th Asia-Pacific Ballet Competition in Japan, and the Junior Silver at China's top competition, the 8th Tailia Cup.

His ability and artistry awarded him a spot as a principal company member with the Guangzhou Ballet Company in 2007. While appearing with that company he was awarded the Special Prize entitled the Bounty Award for Ballet Couple at the Varna Ballet International Competition in 2008 and the Gold Prize, Senior Division at the Helsinki Ballet International Competition in 2009.

Mr. Huang has appeared in classical principal roles such as Swan Lake, La Bayadere, La Sylphide, Coppelia, Paquita, Variations for Four, Le Corsaire, Don Quixote, and Diana & Actaeon; and contemporary leading roles such as The same of moon, Memory, This is life, Butterfly Lovers and The Yellow River. In addition to dancing these prestigious roles, Mr. Huang has had the opportunity to tour internationally and appear in the United States and in Switzerland.
