DANCE FOR PARKINSON'S
A HOUSTON BALLET AND HOUSTON AREA PARKINSON SOCIETY PARTNERSHIP
Dance for Parkinson's is an innovative and collaborative dance program for people with Parkinson's in the Houston community. The program is brought to Houstonians by Houston Ballet Foundation and Houston Area Parkinson Society (HAPS).
The class meets on Monday afternoons from 12:30 p.m.- 1:30 p.m. Dance for Parkinson's expands HAPS's exercise program, adding a new type of dance group to its existing tango dance group.
Like the tango group, Dance for Parkinson's is a fun and exciting environment for people to tap into their creativity and apply some of the ground-breaking approaches that are proving to benefit those with Parkinson's.
A pianist accompanies the class and incorporates various types of music, encouraging participants to dance independently and find their own beat.
If you would like to participate in Dance for Parkinson's, or any of the HAPS programs, please contact HAPS at 713-626-7114 or online at www.hapsonline.org. Beginners are welcome, no partners required—just a willingness to have fun!
